This group is open to current members of Belper & District u3a.

This is a new group which is in the process of being set up and will hopefully begin soon.

Pickleball is a cross between badminton, tennis and table tennis.

It’s played on a badminton court with the net lowered to tennis height using a paddle, a bit like a big table tennis bat. The ball is made of hard hollow plastic somewhat bigger than a tennis ball. The scoring and rules are the same as badminton, except the serve has to be from behind the base line.

It is highly suitable for those who consider they are too slow for badminton. It is a very cheap and easy sport but still good exercise.

We are looking for interest in a Belper & District u3a Pickleball group which will meet weekly for 2 hours at Ripley Leisure Centre on Thursday afternoons.

If you would like to join the group or for more information please contact the Group Co-ordinator by clicking on the blue link above.
