What have the Romans ever done for us?
It is an informal group where members are welcome to contribute thoughts, ideas, knowledge and experience.
Meetings take place fortnightly on Thursday morning, 10.30-12.00 at Strutts.
Refreshments are available (via a coin-operated machine) and the cost of the room hire is shared between the group members.
Meetings cover topics like:-
"Roman society"
"Food and drink"
"Art and architecture"
"Roads and waterways"
"The army"
"Roman Britain"
"Gods and temples"
"The Republic and Empire"
"Good and bad Emperors"
..to name but a few!
We sometimes organise trips to visit local sites of Roman interest like Letocetum at Wall. Museums trips have also been organised.
