This group is only open to current members of Belper & District u3a.

The group began in June 2021 with the aim to provide an opportunity for members to meet up, have a chat over a cuppa in a local café and maybe go for a short stroll in the area, depending on the weather.

We meet on the 2nd Wednesday of each month and members suggest venues which have nice tea rooms/cafes and an easy, pleasant walk or shops nearby.

We originally chose venues accessible by public transport from Belper but we also car-share so we can visit a wider variety of places.

Places we have visited since we began include - Ashford in the Water, Barton Marina, Matlock Park, Felley Priory, Lea Gardens, Meynell Langley Gardens, Tissington, Hassop Station, Edensor Tea Rooms, Chatsworth Kitchen, Hartington, The Bottle Kiln, Cromford Wharf - as well as more local venues in Belper and Duffield.

We are often full but our numbers change fairly regularly so if you are interested in joining, you can either join or put your name on the waiting list via the Members Portal (details of how to do this are on the Members page) or you can contact the group co-ordinator by clicking on the blue link above.

NB -If anyone is interested in joining this type of group but cannot do the 2nd Wednesday in the month, please contact me as I would be happy to help you set up a similar group on a different day - I have a list of good places to visit to help you get started!
